PZ Cussons taps Growell Uganda for brand expansion across Uganda
The partnership was announced at a dinner held at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
UGANDA – PZ Cussons has named Growell Uganda Limited as its new distributor for Imperial Leather and Venus Haircare products in Uganda, aiming to expand the availability of its brands across the country.
Under the arrangement, Growell immediately assumed responsibility for distributing Imperial Leather and Venus products.
It will also handle other PZ Cussons brands, including Morning Fresh and Roberts.
The collaboration is designed to reach consumers through a broad retail network, spanning major supermarkets as well as smaller shops and salons throughout Uganda.
During the Kampala event, PZ Cussons also introduced several new products.
These include Imperial Leather body mists and exfoliating soaps, alongside Venus Finishing Mousse and Venus Braid Spray.
The newly launched Venus items will complement the brand’s existing Moisture Seal and Anti-Dandruff product lines.
Cynthia Abuti, PZ Cussons’ brand manager for haircare, said Growell was selected to help improve product availability nationwide.
Cynthia said, “With Growell Uganda Limited as our distributor, we have a partner whose promise is right there in their name: great distribution.”
Abuti added that the partnership is intended to make the brands accessible to consumers in large supermarkets, neighbourhood shops, and salons.
Lorna Mwangi, Growell’s general manager, said the company will prioritize dependable supply and broader market coverage.
“Great brands deserve great distribution, and that is exactly what Growell is built to deliver, reliable supply, nationwide reach, and a genuine commitment to seeing these brands succeed in every market we serve,” she said.
Retailers will be offered trade promotions as the two companies promote the new partnership.
Growell also intends to roll out a branded roadshow truck to markets, featuring product activations, special offers, and giveaways.
PZ Cussons traces its origins to Sierra Leone in 1884 and is now an international consumer goods business headquartered in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The company builds portfolios of personal, home, and baby-care brands.
Growell Uganda was founded in 2013 and is based in Kampala. It imports, markets, and distributes fast-moving consumer goods in Uganda and across the wider East African region.
