Clorox appoints Fabian Garcia as next Chief Executive Officer

He brings more than 40 years of experience in global consumer products leadership.

USA – Fabian Garcia has been appointed as the next CEO of The Clorox Company, effective January 5, 2027.

He will succeed Linda Rendle, who announced in May that she would leave the role due to health reasons.

Upon taking office, Garcia will also join Clorox’s board of directors, while Matthew Shattock, Clorox’s lead independent director and former board chair, will become independent chair.

Rendle will remain chair and CEO until Garcia officially begins in the role.

At that point, she will step down as both CEO and a director, although she will stay on in an advisory capacity through April 2, 2027 to help ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Shattock said, “Fabian is an accomplished global business leader with an exceptional track record of delivering results, building enduring brands and developing high-performing teams.”

“His experience leading large-scale consumer businesses, advancing innovation, successfully managing complex and evolving customer and channel dynamics, and driving disciplined growth makes him well suited to lead Clorox.”

Garcia currently leads Unilever Personal Care and is a member of Unilever’s leadership executive team.

Since joining Unilever in 2020, Garcia has held several senior positions, including president of Unilever North America.

Prior to that, he was CEO of Revlon and chief operating officer for global innovation and growth at Colgate-Palmolive, where he oversaw worldwide growth strategy, consumer innovation, and operational productivity efforts.

Earlier in his career, he held multiple global leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, building expertise in brand development, commercial excellence, and consumer-driven growth.

Garcia currently serves on Wells Fargo’s board and has previously served on the boards of Kimberly-Clark and Arrow Electronics.

Garcia said, “While there is more work ahead to strengthen performance and realize the company’s full potential, I am energized by the opportunity and confident in Clorox’s future.”

“ I look forward to working with the team to build on these strengths, drive growth and create long-term value for all of our stakeholders.”

Rendle said leading Clorox and working with colleagues around the world has been the privilege of her career.

As she prepares to hand over leadership in the coming months, she expressed confidence in the company’s future and said she looks forward to seeing what Clorox achieves under Garcia’s leadership.
