PPG names Olivier Ubrich General Manager, Industrial Coatings EMEA
PPG has not disclosed further details regarding the organizational structure, reporting arrangements, or specific strategic priorities for the business under Ubrich’s leadership.
EMEA – PPG has appointed Olivier Ubrich as General Manager of its Industrial Coatings business in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
Ubrich brings more than 20 years of senior management and technical experience in chemical engineering and coatings technologies to the position.
Before joining PPG, Ubrich served as Chief Executive Officer of Minakem.
His background combines leadership, commercial expertise, and deep technical knowledge of coatings technologies, making him well positioned to lead PPG’s Industrial Coatings operations across the EMEA region.
In his new role, Ubrich will oversee the company’s Industrial Coatings business throughout EMEA. According to statements issued alongside the appointment, his leadership experience and commercial capabilities are expected to strengthen PPG’s market position in the region.
PPG also confirmed that its customer-focused approach to EMEA operations will continue under his direction.
The appointment comes shortly after PPG recently promoted Alex Lopez from director of investor relations to vice president, investor relations and operational finance, effective October 1.
In the expanded role, Lopez will continue reporting to Jamie Beggs, PPG’s senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Lopez will maintain leadership of the company’s investor relations activities while also taking charge of enterprise operational finance.
His responsibilities will include reinforcing capital discipline, strengthening productivity governance, and improving the effectiveness of operational finance across PPG.
Lopez brings two decades of experience at PPG, where he has held finance positions with progressively greater responsibility across both corporate functions and individual business units.
Before moving into investor relations in 2024, he served as global finance director for Automotive OEM Coatings.
In 2017, he relocated to Mexico City to become finance director for Architectural Coatings, Latin America, where he supported the growth of PPG Comex.
His earlier roles at PPG included business controller for Automotive OEM Coatings and Industrial Coatings, as well as global financial planning and analysis manager for Automotive OEM Coatings.
Before joining the company, Lopez worked in financial planning and liaison roles at GE Appliances and its joint venture Mabe as part of their financial management program.
Lopez earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and an MBA from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business.
