The launch supports local manufacturing expansion, job creation, and supply chain growth in East Africa.

KENYA – L’Oréal East Africa’s Nice & Lovely brand has launched a new roll-on deodorant range in Kenya, marking its entry into the personal care deodorant category.
This debut expands the brand’s dominance from body lotions into daily hygiene products amid rising consumer demand.
The product line was unveiled on March 5, 2026, in Nairobi, featuring seven alcohol-free variants: Ultra Fresh, Cotton Dry, Sensitive, Invisible, Speed, Cool, and Energy.
According to the brand, these roll-ons promise up to 48 hours of odour and sweat protection, with formulations that minimize skin irritation and white marks on clothes.
Kenya’s hygiene category, including deodorants, is valued at around KES 5 billion (USD 38 million), according to Sagaci Beauty Market Sizing 2025, driven by urban lifestyle shifts and increased hygiene awareness.
Roll-ons are gaining popularity for their skin-friendly, affordable application, which offers L’Oréal a chance to leverage Nice & Lovely’s lotion market leadership.
Nice & Lovely, Kenya’s top body lotion brand known for dermatologically tested skincare, is extending into deodorants to provide accessible, high-performance hygiene solutions.
Marie Van Haesendonck, L’Oréal East Africa Managing Director, emphasized the brand’s trusted reputation, stating, “Nice & Lovely has long been recognized as Kenya’s leading body lotion brand, trusted for its effective and dermatologically tested skincare solutions.”
“The deodorant launch extends the brand’s offering into daily hygiene while maintaining high-performance products that remain accessible and relevant to Kenyan consumers,”
The launch comes after Nice & Lovely relaunched its skincare brand in Uganda with its new Lemon Extract Body Lotion, enriched with Vitamin C, Sunflower Seed Oil, and natural lemon extract for 48 hours of hydration, even skin tone, and enhanced radiance.
The fast-absorbing, non-greasy formula targets the needs of East African skin, addressing 85% of African women’s demand for long-lasting protection against environmental stressors.
The relaunch took place at Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala, attended by dignitaries such as Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister for Privatisation and Investment, who praised the brand’s 150 job creations and urged local manufacturing in Uganda.
Key speakers included Victoria Karanja, GM of L’Oréal Consumer Products, and Doreen Kathambi, Brand Business Lead.
