Protech Group completes acquisition of Ripol

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

ITALY – The Protech Group, a Canadian surface coating company, has completed its acquisition of Ripol, an Italian powder coatings manufacturer.

The transaction was carried out through Protech’s European subsidiary, Oxyplast Belgium.

The deal includes Ripol’s Italian operations and its affiliated activities in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

These businesses extend Protech’s European manufacturing and distribution network, which already includes facilities in Belgium, the Czech Republic and Poland.

David Ades, President of The Protech Group, said Ripol had earned a strong reputation in the European powder coatings market through its focus on quality, innovation and customer service.

He welcomed the business into the group, describing the acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen Protech’s European presence and open new avenues for growth.

Ades also said Protech intends to build on the foundation established by the Di Segni family while supporting Ripol’s continued development and success.

Alberto Di Segni of Ripol expressed pride in the business that the family and its employees have developed over the past 25 years. He attributed its success to a consistent commitment to quality, service and lasting customer relationships.

Protech describes itself as a privately owned global manufacturer of powder coatings, paints, adhesives and specialty polymer-based products, operating more than 25 manufacturing locations worldwide.

The purchase of Ripol advances the company’s stated strategy of expanding its international presence through strategic investments and acquisitions, while adding to its established European operations.

Ripol,  founded by the Di Segni family, is based in Santo Stefano Ticino, near Milan.

Ripol offers a broad portfolio of powder coating solutions for architectural, industrial, automotive, appliance, furniture, and anti-corrosion applications.

Its core product range includes polyester powder coatings with excellent UV and weather resistance, epoxy-polyester hybrid coatings for indoor applications requiring strong mechanical and chemical resistance, and epoxy powder coatings designed for demanding anti-corrosion and chemical-resistant environments.

The company also provides a wide variety of special-effect and decorative coatings, including metallic finishes (chrome, gold, bronze), pearlescent, sparkling, micaceous, bonded, granite-effect, hammered, textured, marbled, wrinkled, and clear-coat systems.

Coatings are available in standard RAL, Pantone, and custom colors with gloss levels ranging from high gloss to matte.

In addition, Ripol offers functional powder coatings such as antibacterial coatings, antistatic and conductive coatings, scratch-resistant systems, low-cure and fast-cure powders, marine-certified coatings, outgassing-friendly coatings, and dual-layer anti-corrosion primer systems for enhanced protection in harsh environments.

On the other hand, since 1976, the Protech Group has established itself as a leader in surface coating technology, developing innovative solutions for a range of industries.

The company manufactures powder and liquid coatings, architectural paints and polymer-based materials, combining advanced laboratory technologies with the expertise of skilled chemists to drive quality and innovation.
