Henkel unveils Somat Smartwash automatic dosing system
Somat Smartwash became available in Germany on October 20 through selected online and retail channels.
GERMANY – Henkel has rolled out Somat Smartwash, a new generation of dishwashing solutions designed to deliver clean, shiny, and better-dried dishes with every wash cycle.
The fully automatic and autonomous dosing system continuously adjusts the release of its different components to suit the requirements of each individual cycle, providing strong cleaning, shine, and drying performance.
Through the Smartwash app, consumers also gain greater visibility into product usage and consumption, along with personalised settings and added convenience.
Somat Smartwash has been created to make everyday dishwashing simpler while maintaining dependable cleaning performance, improved shine, and better overall results.
It brings detergent, rinse aid, salt, and machine care together in one solution and automatically adapts product dispensing to the specific wash cycle.
The system also supports improved drying performance, particularly for plastic items.

Somat Smartwash combines detergent, rinse aid, salt, and machine care in a single integrated system and automatically adjusts dosing throughout the entire wash cycle. Sensors monitor temperature and movement patterns while analysing the progress of the selected programme in real time.
Using this information, the system recognises the different stages of the wash cycle and releases each formulation at the optimal moment to maximise cleaning performance while improving shine and drying results.
The timing and quantity of product release are continuously adjusted to the actual conditions of each cycle, whether it is a short programme or an energy-saving eco cycle operating at low temperatures.
The device is compatible with standard household dishwashers from different brands. It is simply placed in the lower basket and can remain there permanently, making it a convenient addition to existing dishwashers.
The Smartwash app adds a range of digital features to the system. Users can view information on usage and consumption, receive alerts when refills are needed, and conveniently reorder product
The app also enables personalised settings and individual adjustments, allowing Smartwash to be adapted to users’ preferences and habits.
